Elegant and modernly sophisticated, this table was designed in consultation with the customer to fit specific needs in terms of shape, design and aesthetic. Carefully crafted from reclaimed and salvaged Garry Oak, imperfections embraced and filled with white epoxy, this piece was carefully dried and machined to be a family heirloom for many years to come. The table serves multiple roles i.e., as addition to the existing kitchen island and as a stand-alone table or desk. The process spanned over six months to achieve an outcome that was satisfactory for the customer. The 1-1/2" thick oak slab was chosen by the customer for it's clear vertical grain from the center of the reclaimed timber which originally grew for over one hundred years on the shoreline of Lake Steilacoom in Lakewood, Washington and for it's live edge. The 1-1/2" steel square tube custom welded base is finished in black textured paint with levelers to achieve the perfect height with respect to the existing countertop.
